Neurodevelopment: early-life signals and careful interpretation
Population-level research can identify groups that may benefit from closer follow-up. It cannot diagnose a child, predict an individual future, or show that an ordinary childhood event caused a later condition.
Evidence companions
- Prematurity and autism: the graded association across gestational age
- Repeated measured fever in early childhood and later ADHD diagnosis
The practical emphasis is earlier recognition and appropriate developmental assessment—not blame, alarm, or deterministic prediction.
